Our purpose is to reach out to the entire community with the message, “Mental Health is as important as Physical Health."

 2023 Accomplishments

  • Continued to conduct board business successfully in a virtual manner

  • Set up and hosted a display at the Rum River Library for Mental Health Awareness Month and to promote the annual walk

  • Hosted the campaign’s 14th Annual Walk for Mental Wellness

    • Successfully held at a new location, Anoka County’s Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park 

    • Drawing nearly 300 participants, our largest attendance

    • Guest speaker spoke about his life with mental illness and serving as a police officer

  • Continued participating on the board of NAMI Anoka County 

  • Sponsored, tabled, and attended the NAMI Minnesota State Conference

  • Presented at Anoka County Mental Health Advisory Council

  • Created the Community Wellness Grant, an application process to allocate resources to education and awareness activities in the community

  • Four board members were trained as Ambassadors in Make it OK stigma reduction, six board members in total are now Ambassadors

  • Met with HealthPartners - Make It Ok to learn more about how to use the Make It Ok resources in our community

  • Recruited and welcomed six new board members, Carol Hendricks, Missy Merschman, Stacey Burnham, Gabriel Rios, Betsy Galvan, Tonya Scherping, and Jennifer Tyson

  • Awarded the Healthy Mind, Healthy Body award to the Stories Foundation
